Scott was the guest speaker at an Eastern Kings Chamber of Commerce breakfast on July 7 in Wolfville.

This weekend....

In addition to the Annual Kings-Hants MP's BBQ this Sunday, Scott will be joining MP Mike Savage, N.S. Liberal Leader Stephen McNeil and MLA's Diana Whalen and Andrew Younger in the Halifax Pride Parade on Saturday. He will be attending the official opening of the Windsor Pool at noon on Sunday.

In a Liberal Party press release this week Scott said that the Harper government has abandoned Canada’s livestock producers by not challenging the damaging U.S. Country of Origin Labelling regulations at the World Trade Organization.

“Their reluctance to pursue a World Trade Organization challenge against American country-of-origin labelling is putting our beef and pork industry at risk,” Scott said.

“Mayor meets prominent Liberal” was the headline in the Georgetown Independent and Free Press newspaper in Ontario on July 9^th.

The article discussed Scott’s visit with the Mayor of Halton Hills, Ontario. Scott was in the Ontario region for a 2-day tour in early July to discuss trade and economic issues.

In the article Scott praised the Mayor for “showing great leadership” in defending Canada and “making it clear that American protectionism is bad for both the American and Canadian economy.”
